Laura McCrary, Ed.D
President & CEO

Dr. Laura McCrary is the President and CEO of the Kansas Health Information Network (KHIN) and KONZA National Network. KHIN/KONZA National Network is a Kansas non-profit organization that supports a cloud based clinical enterprise data warehouse, aggregated data services, quality reporting and predictive analytics for providers across the nation.

Laura completed Post-Doctoral work at Kansas University and a Doctorate of Education from Kansas State University. Laura served as an adjunct professor at Rockhurst University-Helzberg School of Management and taught courses in Health Information Technology and Quality. Laura is the Past-Chair of the National Policy Steering Committee for eHealth Initiative and the Payer Workgroup for the Strategic Health Information Exchange Consortium (SHIEC). Laura served as the Co-chair of the Advisory Board for the Sequoia Project/Carequality and served on the Governance Group for the National Syndromic Surveillance System
Jody Denson, MPA, PMP
Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Provider Solutions
Jody Denson is the Vice President of Provider Solutions of KHIN. She has over eighteen years of experience in the healthcare field with an emphasis in working with safety net providers and community mental health centers. Jody has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master's in Public Administration both from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. She is a certified Project Management Professional and is a member of the HIMSS Heart of America Chapter. Jody is an adjunct professor at Johnson County Community College and teaches courses in Health Information Technology.
Eric Thompson
Chief Information Officer

Eric Thompson, MBA has a decade of experience in turning data into actional information in healthcare industry and is committed to data driven decisions and developing quality decision support and business intelligence to quality of care driven healthcare partners. He was instrumental in developing the earliest provider reports off of health information exchange data on the Kansas Health Information Network and implemented the first dashboards for a provider user base derived from that network. Previously he worked on the Population Health team at Cerner and helped build and publish Value-Based Benefit Design to Improve Medication Adherence for Employees with Anxiety or Depression. Later he worked in health systems using various disparate data sources to consolidate into actional information using Microsoft, REDCap, McKesson and various coding languages to combine clinical data structures. Working with clinical staff he is dedicated to delivering useful information to drive better health outcomes.
Jeff Messer
Chief Financial Officer

Jeff Messer joined KONZA in 2021, bringing with him extensive knowledge in business development and healthcare IT. Other roles have included leading a SaaS company, ToolWatch, LLC, as CFO and COO, acting as a consultant to WYFI (the Wyoming health information exchange) and serving as VP of Market Development for DispatchHealth, a mobile in-home healthcare provider. Jeff also led outreach, marketing and practice transformation efforts for CORHIO, a Colorado-based health information exchange, as their Chief Development Officer. While at CORHIO, Jeff co-founded and was chairman of the Mid-States Consortium of Regional Health Information Organizations, a collaboration of 23 regional health information organizations in 18 states.
Brenda Kebert
Privacy and Data Compliance Officer

Brenda Kebert joined KHIN in August 2015 and is the Privacy and Data Compliance Officer. She has over 10 years of experience in the healthcare field with an emphasis in quality control, project management, MIPS reporting, and medical liability. Brenda has a Bachelors of Science degree in Legal Studies from Washburn University.
Karla Mills, MBA
Chief Operating Officer

Karla Mills joined KONZA in 2022 as Chief Operating Officer. An industry expert, she has over a decade of experience leading various product and business functions in fast-growing healthcare technology companies. Prior to her role at KONZA, she was the Chief Operating Officer for Health Gorilla where she built an operational framework to support the growth and scale of the company. Before that, she worked for CORHIO (a Contexture organization), building the teams, processes, and systems needed to advance information exchange. She started her career in direct patient care, spending over a decade in emergency and radiology roles.
